Candescent Health and Wellness was born out of an understanding that people deserve better than the current state of healthcare in America. Shortened appointment times, patients herded through without the ability to tailor care to individual needs, marginalized populations of patients uncertain about trusting providers with intimate health needs, and insurance companies dictating patient care regardless of medical need are only a few examples in which clients are being taken advantage of in healthcare. After nearly a decade in a traditional healthcare role, it was clear “Better” was not coming. “Better” needed to be created. It was time to break free of the current model of American healthcare.
Candescent Health and Wellness was founded to create an inclusive, supportive, comprehensive and affirming healthcare practice for all individuals seeking the care of a supportive, and affirming Midwife. Empowering individuals including women, gender-queer, those assigned female at birth, and non-binary folx, to assume active roles in their own health journey is the highest priority of Candescent Health and Wellness.
